I know I used an original OT10 picture but i couldn’t hold myself from this awesomeness! I’m so sorry!
As you probably realised from my into yes, they were more. 3 members left until now and trust me they still keep going! I hope they can pass the kpop 5yo group curse without any more damage.
EXO is a South Korean-Chinese boy group based in Seoul. Formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2011, the group debuted in 2012 with twelve members separated into two subgroups, EXO-K and EXO-M, performing music in Korean and Mandarin, respectively. Their Chinese albums rock harder than you can ever imagine. Just in case!
(I’m going to put all the chinese M/Vs because I’m biased)
We first met them back in 2012 with their hit title tracks “MAMA” and “History”. Their concept is “supernatural powers” so don’t be confused if you see some supernatural hints flying here and there throughout the M/Vs!
Moving on to their most successful year, 2013, they came back with a full album naming it “XOXO” realising the title track “Wolf” that hit everyone harder than a lightning. For a follow-up they chose “Growl” just to smack us in the kokoro. Nice move there you boys..yeah..!!
The single peaked at number three on Billboard’s Korea K-Pop Hot 100 and number two on the Gaon’s Singles chart. “XOXO” was named Album of the Year at the 2013 Mnet Asian Music Awards, making EXO the youngest ever boy band to win the award.
“XOXO” is the best-selling album in South Korea of 2013, winning the Disk Daesang Award at various award ceremonies like the Golden Disk Awards and Seoul Music Awards.
“Overdose” was the beginning of the end, literally. They unlocked a new theory where all the members are being locked in a massive maze. Maze Runner EXO edition! Except then 2 members left with lawsuits along for the company.
Yes, we came to this emotional moment to see the final member leaving. “Call Me Baby” from their second full album “Exodus” was the last OT10 M/V. But after all the tears let’s move to the part that proved to be successful winning 18 times on music shows, making it the second most awarded song of all times.
The album’s Korean version also broke records after staying at number one on the album chart for four consecutive weeks. “Exodus” eventually went on to sell over a million copies, and is the group’s second album after “XOXO” to do so. It was named Album of the Year at the 2015 Mnet Asian Music Awards, making this the third consecutive win in this category for the group since 2013!!!
“Love Me Right” was the follow-up track from the repackaged “Exodus”. Hurtful seeing only 9 members but pretty up beat M/V proved once again how powerful they are along with their fandom, the EXO-Ls.
That year they hit a milestone getting a chance to perform for 3 days in Tokyo Dome. For those who are not familiar with that, It has a maximum total capacity of 55,000 depending on configuration, with an all-seating configuration of 42,000. The biggest stadium in Asia. Thank me later for the heart attacks!
Of course they wouldn’t only stop there! They are so well-known in and outside of Asia that they collaborated with Walt Disney to release a song called “Lightsaber” to promote the movie Star Wars: The Force Awakens. They are hitting the geeks harder than ever before! The song slays though!
Passing through the special winter songs and all these promote madness we come to the greatest moment of your life. Yes! Your life! You are living a year of massive kpop hits!
“Lucky One” was the first M/V that was released continuing their maze journey. The beat is so funky that you can’t stay still. I’m not an EXO-L, i never listened or watched them fanatically but i know when i see something good!
“Monster” is the ultimate up-beat track that cannot be out of your playlist! I’m telling you “I’m creeping in your heart” with this and trust me it’s a magic spell that you cannot run away from!
I’m so excited to listen to some new sick beats from them again!
