Weekly Entertainment Appreciation K-Music – Kim Taeyeon

This cupcake’s name is Kim Taeyeon. She debuted in 2007 as a member of South Korean girl group Girls’ Generation under S.M. Entertainment, and has further participated in its subgroup TTS (aka Taeyeon, Tiffany, Seohyun).

She officially made her debut as a solo artist in October 2015 with her first extended play, I, which reached number two on South Korea’s Gaon Album Chart and has sold well over 100,000 physical copies.

The lead single, “I”, peaked at the top of Gaon Digital Chart and has sold over one million digital copies. Following her debut, she was awarded “Best Female Artist” at the MAMA (aka Mnet Asian Music Awards).

Even though I’m not a fan of SNSD the mini album was so good that got me addicted to her voice and music. That’s why I got so hyped up when her first comeback was announced.

You can listen to her first mini album HERE.

Her first singl,e as a soloist, was under a project called “SM STATION” that her company created to support its artists through out 2016.

To be honest I didn’t feel the song at all. It is indeed close to her style but not at the same time too. Weird..

And now we finally have the second mini masterpiece album. This time she wasn’t alone! DEAN had part of the production and arrangement. Also the style changed to a more hyped one this time!

“Starlight” was the first M/V that came out creating an into of the story that was about to be completed in the “Why” M/V. Twisted enough to make me freeze but interesting to make me miss someone I don’t even have. LOL

You can listen to her second mini album HERE because it’s something you have to do for yourself!!
